Passivhaus project – Demolition pending

Project update
Following the planning application submission, there was an extensive review of the project both structurally and architecturally. It has been decided by the design team that both the house and the barn should be demolished.
No build goes smoothly
It was concluded that although the main house appears to be structurally sound and architecturally viable from the outside, a more thorough investigation internally highlighted many potential problem areas. A variation to planning was submitted to Gedling Borough Council to request demolition of the main house 14/03/17, although the design and massing will be unchanged. It has been advised planning should be determined by the end of the month (March 2017).
Onwards and upwards
Despite a few setbacks with the planning process, work has started on the plot, in earnest. The majority of the invasive Bramble that was smothering the existing mature trees has been removed and debris cleared ready for landscaping.
More updates on planning due very soon!
