A Commitment to Sustainability in Design
Situated next to the new children’s garden, the Family Restaurant was conceived with a strong focus on transparency, simplicity, and sustainability. The building’s design and function have been tailored to offer a welcoming and eco-friendly environment for visitors while minimising its environmental footprint.
At Encon Associates, our expertise was brought in to guide the project through the complexities of the BREEAM certification process. Our role was to conduct comprehensive assessments that measured the building’s performance across various sustainability criteria, ensuring that each aspect of the restaurant’s design met or exceeded the standards required for a BREEAM Excellent rating.
The BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) standard is one of the world’s leading sustainability assessment frameworks for buildings. For the Family Restaurant, this meant evaluating a wide range of performance indicators, including energy efficiency, water use, and indoor environmental quality. Our consultancy services ensured that every element of the restaurant’s construction aligned with these sustainability goals.
