Unity Square – HMRC Building
Encon Associates were commissioned to out the BREEAM assessment for the Unity Square development, a state-of-the-art Grade A office building situated in Nottingham, near the city’s main train station.

The project, spanning 62,022 square meters, provides high-quality office space designed to accommodate around 4,000 full-time employees. This prestigious development is located on a 1.14-hectare site along Queensbridge Road.
Unity Square, the new headquarters for HMRC in Nottingham, is an iconic building designed with sustainability, energy efficiency, and modern work environments in mind. Its prime location near Nottingham’s train station makes it an ideal hub for employees commuting from across the region, offering excellent connectivity and minimizing the building’s overall carbon footprint.
The building was designed to provide a sustainable workspace that promotes employee well-being, collaboration, and productivity while integrating environmentally responsible technologies and practices.

BREEAM Assessment and Achievements
The Unity Square project was subject to a rigorous BREEAM assessment, and we at Encon Associates are thrilled to announce that the building achieved a BREEAM Excellent score of 74.0%. BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is a globally recognized standard for assessing the sustainability of building designs and their environmental performance.
